Prayer

Prayer is Who I am

Pat has been a person of prayer all her life, but one book was life-changing. She explains how her prayer life was revolutionized by working through the study "Experiencing God" by Henry Blackaby. It gave her a new perspective on how to join God in her everyday life.

FORGIVENESS

This is an amazing true story of how a friend of mine was able to help rescue her brother out of a desperate situation. He was in prison far away for having murdered a police officer, and had no one who cared about him. Five years ago, his sister led a campaign to raise money to get him transferred to Oklahoma and many loving people helped make this possible. The police officer's family forgave him and helped appeal for the transfer. Here, he found love, support, and new life in Christ.

In this video story, Bud and Linda talk about problems that could have ended their marriage. It was little stuff, but typical of what often happens. They considered divorce. No one person was there to come to their rescue. Independently, they each figured out how to do the right thing.

LIVES THAT STAYED CHANGED

I remember how, over forty years ago, God blessed this church in Colon, Michigan, where my husband and I were serving. This year, some former members got together with me around a dining room table to reminisce about that exciting time and how it changed our lives. One lady, who had lived with us for a while, and a few others who were still in the area agreed to get together.  This is how discipleship works. All these ladies are still growing and being used to serve God in unique ways!

Reminiscing about a Dynamic Church in Lansing

Listen to the Audio. (Be patient; the beginning is muffled.)

Over thirty years ago, God blessed this church in Lansing, Michigan, where I, Pat, and my husband were serving. This summer, I contacted some former members Trent and Patsy, who graciously opened their church for an informal reunion. Trent is the pastor of River's Edge Community Church in Lansing and Director of Lansing Youth For Christ. We met with other former members to reminisce about the exciting times and how God changed all our lives.  I was so disappointed that not everyone knew we were in town, because I really wanted to see all of the active former members one more time.

Listening to this, my present husband commented that the experiences reminded him of the church in Acts, where people came alive in Christ, and then dispersed to different churches where they continue to serve Him today.

Well done, good and faithful followers of our Risen Savior, who continues to work in all those who love Him, preparing us for spending an eternity with Him!
